Subtitles cut out after 20 sec

I don’t hear to well and need my Subtitles to follow the shows but now the subtitles cut out after only about 20 sec. of play. If I rewind it they come back but cut off another 20 sec. later. I’m very frustrated and don’t know what to do. I see other reports from February through march last year but no answers to fix it. Does anyone have an answer? How do I fix the subtitles on my Roku ultra to play back normally?

It sounds like you may have enabled Instant Replay subtitles.

This setting is global. it will persist when you change it from within our channel, another channel, or through the Roku home screen caption settings.

To change it from within the Plex channel:

  1. Open the Plex channel
  2. Click on your username on the top right of the menu bar
  3. Settings
  4. Subtitles
  5. Roku Captions Mode: set this to On

This can also be toggled during playback

  1. Start playback
  2. Press the * button on the remote
  3. Roku overlay will show
  4. Change Close captioning to On
