I have been having trouble lately where Rokus that are outside of my server house are defaulting to playing the 4K version of movies and transcoding them instead of defaulting to the lower quality 720p version I have merged to the same files. This happens even if the Roku in question does not support 4K at all, but also when a Roku Ultra is set to a lower quality than original. Is a Roku Plex app supposed to automatically detect the capabilities of the player and TV to select the appropriate version? I thought I read somewhere that it did. Thanks for any help.
