Roku Plex app says "NAS is currently unavailable" - but it IS available in app via different menus!

From the Roku Plex app, I get mixed ability to access local NAS access. In some ways, it complains that “NAS is Currently Unavailable. Please verify that the server is running and has a network connection. If you need additional help…However, via other app methods, on the same Roku without reboots/restarts, I can access the NAS just fine. It seems like certain ways work, and other ways (the usual ways) do not for no noticeable reason.

Here’s different ways to access, and success/fail; timestamp is for logs (tried to pause between each step):

  • Plex on Roku [09:54, fail] - by default, home not showing my library stuff like it used to. Even with the new interface, I thought I’d see some?
  • Plex on Roku [10:00 and 10:08, fail] - use menu to go to Libraries OR to go to Libraries | Movies. Results in above error message.
  • Plex on Roku [10:10, success] - use menu to go to Libraries | … (more) | Movies. Works fine
  • Plex on Roku [10:18, success] - use menu to go to Search | “marcel” | select it

Other ways I can access my media library with success / other things I’ve done:

  • directly on Plex Media Server (same subnet/mask as roku, btw)
  • logging in to app.plex.tv works I can see all media
  • NAS local works fine, and verified Plex media admin has RW access
  • telnet to PMS:port (works)
  • restarted everything, etc.

Because all other access seems to work, and especially since the same roku can see the media server one way but not another, I personally think this is a bug. Clearly it can connect to the same Plex MS, which rules out a lot of things (subnet, firewall, PMS not running, user rights, etc) and narrows it down to the way that certain menu methods contact the NAS. However, I’m open to any fixes or suggestions people have.

I don’t know how to attach server logs, but will attempt in my first comment. Is there a way to upload/get client logs (all the methods I’ve found must be old, because I can’t find how to ACCESS logs (turn on, yes)? Thanks!

but I cannot get local logs to work (or at least, access - I get a Not implemented 503 even though I had local logging on. I assume I need local logging over remote.
