I’ve been using Plex for over ten years and OH MY GOD, the roku app has been turned into a pile a garbage! The UI feels like it was organized by someone would can only comprehend a single step ahead of themselves at a time, no more!!
What was the point of the redesign? To make your product as bad as possible? The amount of times I have to spam the back button to go from a movie to get ot the search bar is insane, for one example.
Why get rid of the side bar to shove everthing into a top bar that goes back and forth between you needing to press enter vs waiting a moment for the app to open a panel, it’s idiotic.
REMEMBER KIDS: software can ALWAYS get worse (and it probably will)
Welcome to the last year of this forum. We feel your pain.
Unfortunately it’s not just Roku. They are pushing this laughably bad UI/UX to every platform. It’s been a complete nightmare.
Which platforms already have it? AFAIK, Android phones has it, but not Android TV…
I’m quite satisfied with the Android phone experience…
Roku, FireOS, Android/iOS. Apple TV is getting it at some point but it’s been in beta for over a year with zero updates to the current app.
OK. I think it’s fine on Android… I know it’s coming on Android/Google TV too.
I think on a phone the new UI isn’t that bad as you can just touch your screen to change libraries, etc. The problem is it seems Plex doesn’t have a UI designer that understands how a remote works on a large screen!
Oh… I see… Well… The current implementation of TV Mode on Plezy isn’t pleasing to me either. I’m dangerously curious to see what Plex will look like on Android TV. I just hope that they won’t forget to optimize their app for the previous generation of Google Chromecast devices.
