TLDR:
Roku subtitles kind look like crap ; don’t seem to have good rendering of SRT subtitles
I’m using mkv with embedded srt stream (tried external file too, same result) and subtitles always show up with a white text on a black box - which is not as nice as what shows up in the browser client (white text on clear background - and the font rendering is smoother).
Wondering if anyone can definitely say whether the roku app supports a way to show fonts more better-like.
Fwiw I tried converting my srt to ass and the server just transcoded them in when playing via roku, so that seemed liked a non-starter.
