OK - I can live with the upgrade - .I’ll get used to it. Life goes on.
but PLEASE add a HOME button/link like the one that used to reside on EVERY screen of the classic APP.
Before I discovered it, I “lived with” sometimes having to use the BACK button/link MULTIPLE TIMES to return to the home page for many years - Then I fairly recently discovered the HOME button/icon/link on every page and it IMPROVED MY EXPERIENCE exponentially.
I’m using the newer ROKU 2 box that works just fine for me - is this the issue? Am I missing something? Since PLEX rudely upgraded my app last night I have not found any solution to this issue - no button, nor LINK in the various drop down menus or the one incurred with the * button on my remote.
That was true in the Retro app, but not since. Given the new UI, I don’t miss the Home button all that much, but I’d like to see the long-hold Back button function restored.
I never knew that was a thing. Cool! Would definitely be a nice return.
Isn’t it always just a couple of left clicks to get back to the left nav menu? I guess I don’t have much need for a traditional Home button, since I normally only go here to go somewhere else anyway.
thanks, Elijah_Baley ;O
I JUST discovered that - I was a bit frustrated and tired when I loaded the app last night.
The one place where it won’t work is in the “popup” INFO screen for a media item…
I really don’t like the way they handled that as opposed to simply integrating individual media info into the flow of the GUI. Not sure why they added the popup info screen functionality anyways - it only enlarges the poster image slightly, and the scrolling text info which used to be included on the initial item navigation page is gone - in favor of, I think, an expanded section of links for related movies and actors which I do appreciate…I don’t know - it’s getting hard to remember…just 12 hours ago ;O
I’m aware of that - it doesn’t mean I have to welcome or endorse it,
Perhaps you’re reading too much into the word “rudely” which referred to my experience, rather than PLEX’s intention - they alerted users with an email a week or so ago…
Although, they never emailed me when they reverted to the classic app after the initial, unfortunate rollout in 2018.
Lecturing me on behalf of PLEX (if that’s what you’re doing), is inappropriate and annoying.
If you simply wanted to share that information…thank you.
