Roku v6.7.4 Missing shared libraries

Server Version#: 1.21.1.3830
Player Version#: 6.7.4

I think the roku updated the channel. I logged in again. There is no option to find, connect, or browse the two shared libraries I have (both offsite). I’m able to browse and watch via the web player and on my iPad but the roku app is nothing but the free streaming stuff and I can’t find any area to search for or connect to the shared libraries that plex says I have access to.

The latest update (6.7.4) of the ROKU application is broken. I don’t believe that PLEX gives two hoots however. They don’t offer any support so they are not accountable to anyone. You might get music to play on the PLEX app, or you might get lucky and have a short video play, but after this update nearly nothing from the PLEX server will play anymore. The interface is still there, all the content is recognized, but most of the content will not play. Once the player is hung up, then nothing else will work until you exit and return. What’s more is that no one at PLEX seems to be paying attention to this. I’ve never liked Forums. They likely contain valuable information if you feel like sitting and mining the data out of them for hours on end looking for that little gem of information buried in someone’s psychotic screed from 2 years ago. Not having a dedicated support channel from software developers who are being paid for their software is a huge issue. If I wasn’t so invested with these guys (3 ROKU apps, Android App, Windows Player, Android Auto) I would be looking elsewhere. I am wondering if perhaps the best option for us withering on the vine out here without any help from PLEX is to consider a different streaming device. One based on Android perhaps or Apple TV, or Amazon Fire, or Google TV. I am thinking it would be easier than scrapping years of work with your content on the PLEX server to switch to KODI, or one of the other competitors of PLEX.

As a Lifetime Member, I agree. It seems that PLEX is only interested in finding people to pay them every month for a streaming service, and the early adopters who helped make the company what it is are left in the lurch.

All I want is to be able to stream from my home NAS to my TV, as I have done for years. I do not want their recommendations, their streaming offers, or any of the other junk that has been put into these apps.

The Roku App is fried. Too filled up with new offers and not doing what it has done for years. My question, as a software developer, is DOES PLEX NOT DO ANY TESTING BEFORE RELEASES?!?!

Hello, head over to this post - Plex Roku App version 6.7.3 broke - Plex app crashes. I’m not sure if it will help you, but I was able to get 'ol PLEX working again with the latest updates and perhaps you might too. Good fortunes to you and Merry Christmas.
