I was just wondering if there is a way to run trailers and two prerolls. I know how to do one or the other, but not both. I thought I could do a preroll and a trailer, but it only shows trailers, not the preroll. I would love to be able to run trailers and two prerolls. Thanks in advance for any help.
I’m still hoping some one can help. Atleast with an idea…
You can only show one pre-roll, and it apparently will only show as long as you are showing at least one trailer. That seems kind of odd, but that’s what I gather from other threads.
How are you configuring the pre-roll?
Thanks… But I’ve tried running a preroll and 1 trailer, but it never shows the preroll… I’ve done it with 1, 2, 3 trailers and even no trailers… I guess I may not have the preroll set just right… I’ll look in to that I guess… Thanks for your help…
This page may help:
The preroll must be in a Plex library on your own server.
This plex library must be accessible for the plex user which is signed into the Plex client
The preroll video must have suitable ‘age classification’ and ‘sharing labels’ if the user account is restricted.
@beckfield is right. Apparently you must enable at least one trailer to run on the client, otherwise you’ll never get the pre-roll. You also have to get the URL just right. I finally got it by using beckfield’s link, taking the first part of the example URL (up through “server/”), and replacing that with the local IP, etc… that I would get through the web app.
I agree with beckfield too, that it’s pretty goofy to require at least one trailer, in order to get another feature to work. The dropdown should give a separate checkbox/toggle for turning the pre-roll on. This way users have the option of trailers, pre-roll, or both.
