Same episode recording again and again after deletion from library

I have several DVR schedules that have this issue. As an example, I have a DVR schedule for NOVA, which airs new episodes on Wednesdays, set to “New Airings Only”. The same episode also airs an additional 3 more times on the same channel in the next 6 days. If I watch the original Wednesday airing, and delete it within those 6-7 days, the DVR will record one of those additional airings.

Now, I’m sure I understand what’s happening here, but I just wanted to know if this is correct behavior. I would assume the DVR scheduler is checking to see if that episode exists in my library, and then records it when it cannot be found (as I deleted it). My confusion lies in the “New Airings Only” selection. In the Guide, the original Wednesday airing is marked as “New,” but the additional 3 airings are not. What defines “New Airings Only” for Plex?

If space is the issue - make a dummy file out of something microscopic and stick it in there. Turn off the ‘Record a better version’ thingy…
