I recorded a Show called [Quantum Leap] from a long time ago, I’m now trying to record a new version that has Season 2 Starting this coming week. I set it up and it shows in the guide its a tracked Show, but its not showing in the DVR Schedual that its actually going to record it. I’m assuming its because I already recorded a S2E1 from the older version of the show. Is there a way to fix this, or wipe its history of the older show being recorded?

Edit the recording job for this show and set it to record “new and repeated airings”.

I did do that, but I think its ignoring it since it already got a S2E1 from the older version of the show, at least that is my guess.

I had to set up a new pass for season 2. The pass I had set up last year to record season 1 was not seeing any upcoming episodes.

Yeah, I removed both Season 1 and the Old version recording of it, and then created a new one that was for all airings new and old and its still not showing that it will actually record it.

try going to the live tv for wed, I think that is when is airing, and look for it. That is where I picked it and set up the recordiing

That is how I set up the recording, and it shows the little red dots on the show for Wednesday, but the DVR schedule screen shows no records for Wednesday. Thats why I’m assuming it does not think it needs tovrecord it, because it already recorded the older version of S2E1 of the show. Thus why i want to wipe its history of the older show so it will start working again for the new version.

I think I’ve had that happen before. It’s like the DVR schedule calendar and live TV schedule is not in sync. Give it a day and see if it gets its act together. In my experience, if you see the red dots in the live tv screen, it will record.

Ah, yes, Plex’s DVR Prime Directive – Thou Shalt Not Record Duplicates. Period. End of story. No way to override that. Plex knows best!!! You couldn’t possibly have a valid reason to record a duplicate. It would be plain insanity.

To get around this stupidity, it’s best to create a TV Show Library that is only used for the DVR. The duplicate prevention only applies to content in the same library. So keeping a clean TV Show library just for the DVR allows the new reboots to record even if you have the original in another library. This always worked for me (at least until I finally gave up on Plex’s hopeless excuse for a DVR).

Anyway hope this helps.
