Same wrong artist shows up in almost 100 albums!?

This is reeeally weird!?
I have an artist called ‘Cornbread Red’ (which appears on one compilation) showing up as the artist for almost 100 different albums!!

Of course my folder naming and embedded tags are all ok (didn’t check all 100 but enough to notice all are ok) so…what the hell is going on here!?

Here’s what comes up when I search Cornbread Red:

And if I then click on the top result (Cornbread Red - Artist), it shows 98 albums!?

(the one indicated with the red arrow is the one and only album that has ‘Cornbread Red’ on it!)

Can you show a screenshot of your folder structure (of the albums that Plex is showing as incorrect)? Something like this from Mp3tag would be useful.

Thanks for your reply and willingness to help Mark!
I finally went it at the drastic way and Plex Danced the whole thing, checked carefully every album’s metadata and added them gradually. At the very end, I added the ‘offending’ album which had ‘Cornbread Red’ in it and that seems to have solved the problem.

What caused it to be so messed-up though, is still a mystery!
