Samsung Plex app won't stream or transcode mkv movies with PCM audio

Server Version#: 1.25.2.5319-c43dc0277 (Mac OS)
Player Version#: 5.29.1 (Samsung TV OS)

When I try to play a movie (mkv) that ONLY has PCM audio on a Samsung QN90A TV (latest model) I get:

“Playback Error - An unexpected playback problem occurred” black screen.

On movies that have PCM audio and AC-3 or DTS I get the same error only when PCM audio is selected.

All of those movies play fine using PCM audio with my Roku Stick 4K Plex app (connected to a Sony TV) and Sony Google TV Plex app. Apparently the Samsung won’t accept PCM audio. Can anyone confirm? I also see no way to enable/force Plex PCM to ACC/AC-3 transcoding. Is there a way?

I put the same mkv file with PCM audio on a USB stick and the movie plays just fine on the Samsung. So this definitely appears to be a problem with the Samsung Plex app, and not some mkv/PCM incompatibility with the Samsung. Again the same mkv/PCM file on the same Plex Media Server works fine with a Sony TV Plex app, or the Roku Plex app. Only the Samsung Plex app has the problem, and only when I select the PCM audio for the movie, and not the AC-3 audio.
