Samsung Q90T - Backlight (Brightness) Issue

Player Version#: 5.4.2
Tizen: 5.5

Hi,

So I seem to have an issue with the Plex Tizen Preview app. I have only just got the Samsung QE55Q90T today and I’ve done a bit of searching on here and can’t seem to find the exact issue.

I’m fairly sure it’s a Plex App issue and not the TV its self as nothing else app wise on the TV seems to cause the issue.

I have created a video of the issue here: https://streamable.com/lm12qk

You will see that the TV is quite bright but then as soon as the actual Plex content is loaded (this can be any content/quality) then all of a sudden the edges of the TV go very dark (most evident when I bring up the TV menu again). The TV then locks in this brightness state. There is no way to get the brightness to increase or decrease further and the TV requires a hard reset to get it back to its normal brightness.

I left the early access and tried Plex for Samsung: 5.1.0. This does not have the issue that is visible in the video above.

I’ve got all the ECO settings (ambient light etc.) disabled.

Found this but it is a year old and they say it affects youtube as well. https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/tv/how-to-the-picture-settings-effect-the-smart-tv-apps/td-p/863023

It seems like it all got a yellow/warm tint when you selected Plex. have you looked at the general picture settings. My TV has a per source option when changing picture settings which seems to work for backlight. My samsung I think is a bit older and the app does not load the same way so hard for me to see any change. ( on mine the as soon as selecting Plex the whole screen goes black and the loading spinner comes up where on yours the spinner has no background or is transparent.)

I can get the brightness controls not working in other apps but I don’t get the brightness at the side of the screen occurring and then locking on any other apps except Plex Tizen Preview.
