Last night, my Samsung Smart TV (un75tu7000fxza) would not load up the account selection screen on the Plex App. Neither the app, nor the TV firmware has been updated since March 1, 2023. As a test, I deleted and reinstalled the app several times- each time I can get into the app ONCE. But when I restart the app, it loads the logo and then to a permanent black screen (no account selection)- and no amount of soft/hard resets will solve the problem. I must uninstall and re-install the app each time. WORSE - the app does not see my media server. However, I can access the server via other devices on the same network.
Otherwise, the TV functions fine- the network connection is solid. Other apps are working fine - so after a few rounds of troubleshooting, Samsung is blaming the Plex App on the TV.
After reinstall i see version 5.59.3 in plex settings on my samsung tv. Think its an update in the background of plex. And yes, i can confirm your problem since last night too!
I can confirm the same issue.
It’s working all well on my phone and my pc. But it’s not working on my samsung tv.
Yesterday everything was fine. But today, i get the logo, and then it’s just black.
I have reinstalled the app, connected my account and it was working.
But then i switched to another app and started plex again. Bam, black screen is back
So glad I found this forum I was going out of my mind uninstalling and reinstalling, checking routers all the normal things ya look at. Hopefully a fix will happen fast as it’s frustrating

Edit. So far though good after that reinstall
home ->apps->settings->scroll thru installed apps to plex->(delete is grayed out) but scroll down and choose reinstall. I also went into my Plex account via my phone and in account settings signed out from my Samsung under authorized devices.
No problems after running Netflix/Amazon/iPlayer…
Same here. Yesterday it was working fine and today it’s not. I tried also reinstallation of the app and I can start it and log in but it can’t connect to any remote servers, only to local manual server. But after next start of the app I get only plex logo and then blank screen.
I have exactly the same problem on Four Samsung TV’s, three new only 2 months old and 1 four years old.
What I have found is that you must EXIT the app cleanly and not simply swap to another app (e.g. Netflix) or turn off your TV.
I find the app works fine every time if you click the back button till you get a “EXIT” prompt, otherwise like others I have to reinstall to get it working again…!!!
To me this is not ideal on four TV’s with non techie’s around me, visitors and kids…
Plex Please fix e.g. some sort of auto exit after x hours to resolve this issue
2 days ago everything was fine and working, but now the app does not load - just black screen. Plex version 5.55.2. After uninstalling Plex app and then fresh install of it the app loads normally, but after it is closed and opened again it does not load, just black screen again.
