Samsung Smart TV DTS/app upgrade issues

Server Version#: 1.16.2.1297-4b7ace214 (MyCloudPR4100)
Player Version#: 3.105.0 (Plex for Samsung on QA55Q6FNA)

When I go to the Settings > Audio screen, I don’t see any DTS/Dolby settings. I’ve heard the people who see it have a newer player version (3.2xx or 3.3xx) but this update is not available on the Samsung store on the TV.

Am I missing something?

You didn’t specify what Sammy you got, but note that in 2018+ models Samsung has removed DTS :frowning:

Yeah, I do have a 2018 Samsung Smart TV. Any reason for the DTS to be removed? :frowning:

What’s the recommended alternative? I’m fine getting a small device to play a client but I’d like the smart TV experience i.e. have a remote to play movies directly.

Only Samsung knows, but guess they didn’t wanted to pay a license fee
