Samsung Smart TV, Plex App shows Offline in Green and the Wifi Icon is dimmed out

Hi all,

It has been a few months since I used my Plex Application. I use Plex to play movies I have ripped from DVD’s I purchased years ago. When I try to start Plex on my Samsung SmartTV it shows the word Offline in Green in the bottom left of the screen. It then brings up my two servers and both have the big red X showing the app can’t see the Plex Server on my local laptop.

My Wifi is working as other SmartTV apps are playing movies just fine. (Netflix, Prime etc)

I have updated by Plex Server to the most current software version. I can use Plex on the laptop to watch the movies but for some reason my SmartTV can’t gain access to the local Plex Server on my laptop. I have confirmed that my Server and Samsung TV are both showing in the “Authorized Devices” Sections.

As Per Support Documents: I have also signed out (unclaimed) my plex server then signed out of my Plex account. I then as seen from your support docs “claimed” my local server again then signed into my account. Still now luck when launching Plex on my Smart TV.

I will say that when claiming the Local Plex server I get a “no soup for you” error message that shows up quickly then clears. It says I don’t have authorization. But after that it shows my Local Plex Server as Claimed and this server and the Samsung TV are both once again in the “Authorized Devices” list.

This seems like a network or permissions issues. I have also connected my SmartTV to my Local Plex Server laptop via LAN but this has the same affect as WIFI. Samsung Smart TM Plex App shows Offline.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
