Samsung Smart TV still won't play content

Plex has always worked quickly and flawlessly for me. It’s been several months since I used it.
I have been trying for the last week to get it to work. I have uninstalled it, powered down, unplugged, reinstalled, changed my secure connections to always allow, etc. Nothing is working. It’s extremely slow to load the app, and select content, and then when I play I either get a black screen, a frozen buffer wheel, or an unexpected playback error.

What is going on? Is there any kind of fix for this? Reading through some posts it seems like there has been an ongoing issue since last summer with Samsung TV’s.

I have the same problem… to make it work i must choose transcoding profile to be able to play…

thanks god i use emby sometimes and it works ok

Thanks for your response. What do you mean by “transcoding profile”… If this is a feasible workaround until a real fix is presented, I’d love to try it.

Please elaborate on the transcoding fix. I, too, have been getting a black screen on playback on many videos. Cannot find a common denominator for the ones that won’t play. File appears to be open but does not play.

Same for me only on newer things downloaded. Anything On there from montsh ago plays fine. Everything newer last montgh o two… nothing, Ive uninstlled, reinstalled, rebooted TV, done updates, scoured resources. Changed the secure settinmgs etc etc etc - Nothign works !
