The results thus far, is 4k movies stop playing after initially starting with the round loading symbol but never start again once this happens, you can skip them in and will start again then after a time same thing happens.
There are now black bars for a lot of the 1080p movies, that my old LG TV 2k TV does not have, and than other 1080p movies/tv shows without the bar at top and bottom. Within the application on the TV you can’t get rid of black bars, as the options for this, are all greyed out. And I can’t seem to find any difference between ones with bars and without, appears random.
Most of the movies/tv shows are HEVC / x265 or x264 Codec with at least (few stereo) 5.1 or higher sound.
Turning off direct play didn’t seem to fix anything.
Not sure what is causing these issues, just what I’ve noticed in console, and attached the logs files. I was wondering if the missing profile is the source issue or Samsung Plex Application.
Your logs indicate the TV was playing the file the entire time. If there is an issue, it may be on the TV. There is an option in the app to send logging information to your server. Please enable this option, reproduce the error, wait 30s for the log to get written, then grab me new server logs.
The logs show that your TV is direct playing the file, or at least trying to. There is something with the file it doesn’t like so it keeps starting and stopping the transfer of the file. Can you create a 2 minute sample file from that LOTR movies and see if it exhibit the same issue? If so, please upload that sample to a cloud drive and PM me a link.
