you need to enable it on the TV not on the web.
open plex on the TV and go to settings and under video i think is direct play and stream.

I have checked and they are both enabled
has this ever worked?
maybe that file is not supported a direct play on your samsung?
can you post the media info for this item?
also once it does play i.e. after 5 minutes can you go to your now playing and hover over and it will tell you what is being transcoded and why?
I just tried disabling both and it loaded for 30 seconds then buffered played straight away
Yes this has worked before
Shall I leave 1 enabled and one disabled ?
I have both enabled on mine.
Mine is also hardwired is yours on wifi?
also same place make sure it shows local quality and Original.
Ok yes I check and local quality is original
I am on WiFi
I ended up hard wiring all of mine due to buffering issues.
Can you even for testing purposes run a cable to the TV and see if that changes anything?
I can’t as the Nas is in another room as that’s where the router is, if I turn off direct play it works within about 30 seconds now
My wifi downloaded is 250MB and upload is 30MB I should have no issues buffering
That might be true running a test from your PC or phone but Samsung and most vendors put the cheapest crappiest wifi on the TV which can result in poor performance which can cause degradation which can cause buffering and transcoding.
I was plagued with issues until I hardwired mine.
What kind of test? If I run from a test from my iPhone on WiFi or 4g and run a test from my computer then it works fine.
I turned off what I said one of the direct play or direct stream and worked within 30 seconds
