I am running a my cloud home and for some reason Plex is now not working on my Samsung tv. The issue is that when you select a film it’s just spinning and never loads. This was working about a week ago! I have reinstalled the app serveral times and even reconfigured plex on my cloud home
It works on my phone and online plex just not the tv
I am now not able to play any content at all I check and I am on the latest version of plex on the Samsung. I have also checked the software version of the Samsung
This is my make SAMSUNG UE55NU7100 55" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV
plex works on my older TV upstairs which is also Samsung. The Samsung downstairs is on the update that was released 6 days ago. The tv upstairs is on an update that was in October. I have checked for updates on the older tv but it doesn’t find the new version.
I have a similar model and I noticed that when you select the title from the on deck or recently added the play icon doesn’t turn yellow and thus won’t play. But if you go to the title in the library list then it plays.
My samsungs get hung sometimes and I need to hold the power button down while turning it off and it will eventually reset the system and pop up the Samsung logo.
It seems like that causes a reboot which is similar to unplugging it from the wall and plugging it back in and clears playback issues I have had in the past.
I did attached screen shot, I waited 5 minutes and then it loaded.
I have attached the logs, please let me know if you need anything else.Plex Media Server Logs_2018-12-27_19-59-30.zip (2.3 MB)
Based on the logs it looks like your TV is not able to direct play this item which means your system needs to transcode it and given the size of your PMS rig that might explain why it took 5 minutes to get the transcode going and ready
