I’ve been trying to add a Movie to PLEX. I can get the film to show up in my Movie library but only for a split second before PLEX removes it. I’ve done this like five times and it keeps happening.
Any idea what might be causing this?
Are you sure plex is removing it? It could be plex scanned and determined it is a duplicate movie.
Go to your STATUS page(Status → Alerts).
You will see what was recently added & the name plex thinks the movie is.
I didn’t know about that! Unfortunately it just tells me this.

The name the Movie is under is different from anything else in the library too so I’m quite perplexed.
Can you click on [an item] to see?
If not and you don’t want to hassle with installing 3rd pary apps/plug-ins you can do sort by duplicates and see what movie you have dups of.
If you have way to many dups and can’t isolate what movie it is then create a new movie library and add the movie to it. Wait til plex adds and see what the movie is identified as.
If you don’t want to create a new library then edit the agent your current movie library uses then add the movie.
Or, I guess you could look at your logs. It’ll be there.
That did it! For some reason it was saying it was a duplicate of another film it really doesn’t have anything to do with.
I split apart and fixed match and that solved the issue.
