Can't add movie "Test" to library

Trying to add a movie (“Test (2013)”) to my Movies library. It’s correctly named and stored in the same folder as a myriad of other movies.
When I go Movies > Scan Library Files I can see a thumbnail appear, the busy icon overlays the thumbnail for a few seconds, then the thumbnail disappears. The movie is not visible when I search by name in the Movies page.
I downloaded the server logs and looked in the last Plex Media Scanner.log. What I see (in summary) is the following:

Summary

I run export tools regularly so have up to date spreadsheets with all the metadata in them for the different libraries. None of them contains metadata for media ID 66750, 69908, or 95430.

What on earth is going on?
Admittedly “Test” isn’t a very debug-friendly name for a movie but it should still load into the library and let me see it!

Cheers
T

OK, I did that. The permissions looked OK but I reset them anyway. After a pause I moved the “Test (2013)” folder out of Movies, ran a scan, and downloaded the logs again. The scanner log just reported “Deleting directory [Test (2013] (5932)”. Then I restored the movie folder, and scanned again.
Once more I saw the thumbnail placeholder appear for a couple of seconds, then disappear again. I downloaded the scanner logs for a third time. The entries are the same as before (although the new ID 69908 is now 69913, but all the other lines are the same).
It looks like this movie is being misidentified as one already in the library but I can’t see which one it is, and export tools aren’t helping me.

OK, I’ve found what’s happened; the clue was checking whether Erased in the log was actually a name rather than a status - and indeed, the movie “Erased (2012)” in my library now has two media files associated with it. I am just in the middle of cleaning up after a “split”.
I have no idea why the two films got identified as the same.
“Erased” is also known as “The Expatriate”, and for some reason it shows up as the first match when I try Fix Match. But at least everything is fixed now, thanks for your help
