Scan won't pickup new show

I can’t seem to get Plex scan to pickup a series I just got, Masterpiece Poldark (2015). It is in a separate folder and with the normal S01E01 formatting. I have tried calling the folder Poldark, Poldark (2015), Masterpiece Poldark, and Masterpiece Poldark (2015), but nothing seems to get it when I do a scan library. I have added others with no issue. Suggestions?

How exactly have you named / structured those episodes (beyond the S01E01 formatting)?
According to TMDb and TVDb the show is called Poldark… if you’re using the Plex TV Series agent, adding the year the show first aired can help with matching it.

    ...

Where .ext is a placeholder for your actual file extensions.

As for troubleshooting…

  1. verify your file naming / organization are in line with the official guidelines

  2. verify the show isn’t mismatched as a different show

    • filter your library for duplicates to identify if it was recognized as a different version of an existing show
    • sort your library by date added to identify if the show has been added but incorrectly matched as some other show

  3. verify the files don’t contain conflicting embedded metadata

Like all my other series, I have it set in the TV Shows folder, Poldark (2015) folder, then Season 1 folder, then Poldark (2015) S01E01, etc. I did try the Season 01 but did not change and ALL of my others are just Season 1, etc

I am having the same exact problem but with the series Yellowstone. I have tried renaming the files and that didn’t help. Does anyone have a solution to this?

As for the naming: please include a specific example; there’s tons of posts claiming their file names cannot be the issue because they follow the naming schema to the letter… when they’re completely off. Not saying yours are all off… just want to avoid not ruling this out

Well it wasn’t 2 or 3. To solve it, I deleted the whole drive from the library then immediately re-added it and magically it found it and all there. Must be a bug in the Scan Library. This is the second time this very thing has happened to me. I just forgot about the first time then tried it and that reminded me that its what I had to do last time,
