I run plex as a docker container. This is what cAdvisor reports as the CPU usage by my plex container (visualized by Grafana)
Why would Plex start whatever is is doing at 3:00am, be finished by around 3:20am and then start something an hour before the maintenance window ends but do nothing in the time between?
I also attached the logs because I couldn’t make sense of them. I saw something about lyrics matching. Can I disable that? I only have audio books in my library where Plex will obviously not find any lyrics.
I don’t think that is unusual. Not all tasks are performed every time the maintenance is scheduled., and in many circumstances, there is probably nothing to actually do.
I would assume that the server performs the tasks in some sort of priority order during the maintenance period, with certain tasks scheduled for the final task to be done in the times you have configured. I have never actually monitored the server the way you have. My maintenance period is between 2:00 am and 5:00 am. It’s usually busy for a while at 2:00, then idle until near the end of the maintenance schedule.
The only time I saw the server actually busy during the entire maintenance cycle is when it was doing the audio analysis of my music library. That was for about 3 weeks, then it returned to the usual no activity you are seing.
