Search bar not available in Plex web home screen - bug?

Server Version#: 1.16.5.1554

When I load a “fresh” Plex web tab in my browser (from https://app.plex.tv/desktop), there is no search panel in the header bar. This is in the “Home” screen:

Once I browse to a library, the search bar appears, and remains in place even when I browse back to “Home” (which is where the search panel was missing previously).

I’ve tried multiple browsers:

  • Google Chrome 76.0.3809.132
  • Firefox Quantum 69.0 (64-bit)
  • Microsoft Edge 44.18362.267.0

Surely this is a bug in the web client?

Hmm. I don’t get that. I see the search bar every time. What OS are you running?

Windows 10, v 1903 (build 18362.295).

BTW, when I use the internal IP (http://192.168.4.21:32400/web/index.html), I get the old web client version (3.108.2) and the search bar is there in the home screen from the beginning too.

I see this too but only for managed accounts. My main, admin account works as expected.
