I’m running a plex server on an ubuntu 22 installation and mainly access it using the web frontend. For a long time, the search worked as expected, but some time ago (can’t really tell when) it just broke.
When entering a search term, just the spinner (loading circle) is shown, but no search results are returned. When pressing ‘ENTER’ the search site opens, but also only showing the spinner.
The browser console does not show an error regarding the search. The logs also contain nothing useful (even with debug enabled).
Search via api works fine within 50ms, but I also can’t find log entries for the request.
I just updated my server to the latest. In addition to a show I scanned last night STILL doing intro detect and video thumbnails (irrelevant), I checked search using the built-in web client. It just gives me spinny circle.
Using the hosted app.plex search works.
Yesterday when I saw this post, I was on an older version by a month or so, and the built-in web client search worked fine.
I might add: using the android app, search works as expected. I only use a local server, no plex account or anything is used. I did buy the plex app years back, but I don’t think that it makes a difference.
