I have the correct files with the correct episodes taken from https://thetvdb.com/
But they do not match up with Plex, can someone please explain?
The “Plex TV Shows” agent is using TheMovieDB.org as its default.
If you want to use TheTVDB.com instead,
Edit the show at its topmost level,
set the “Episode Ordering” to “TheTVDB (aired)”
Refresh Metadata of the whole show

If you use the TVDB to name all your shows you can change it at the library level. This is essentially changing the default from TMDB to TVDB. Any new shows you add will automatically use the TVDB order too
3 dots next to the library → Manage Library → Edit → Advanced
If you want, you can also just change it the TVDB order for one show at a time
Click the pencil in the show poster → Advanced
Choice # 1 (refresh metadata for the whole library)
Choice # 2 (refresh metadata for just that show)
