Seasons added to incorrect parent folder won’t update after move

I moved a few seasons (17-20) of a show (call it cooking show) onto a server and accidentally placed it in the wrong folder (call it comedy show)

Upon realising the mistake I moved season 17-20 to the cooking show folder on my server.

Plex decided that when cooking show seasons 17-20 were copied into the comedy show folder it would associate them there, despite there being no match because comedy show has only a few seasons.

Even after moving them to the proper folder and rescanning multiple times. I still see comedy show seasons 17-20 listed, with the updated location on drive.

I see no way to bulk edit metadata and this is the first time I haven’t been able to just move a file or folder and rescan.

Is there some change that has prevented old behaviour from working? Is there some way of which I am unaware of bulk changing metadata? Why would Plex maintain a link to these files after they are moved and rescanned? The files themselves had no tag info originally at all.

Plex Dance the cooking show. You can try with just seasons 17-20, but you might have to dance the entire show.

The purpose of this is to remove all cached metadata and xml data for an item that Plex usually keeps. That’s basically what I ultimately did. Moved them completely. Scanned. Readied to the correct folder. Scanned.

It’s the first time I’ve seen this happen and Plex hasn’t picked up a change.
