Started about three releases ago (late November)
I am seeing: (mostly 1080P HD channels, but noted on SD as well) (RECORDINGS have been unwatchable in many cases)
- shuttering
- skipping(dropped frames)
- worst problem is buffering issues with repeating (about 1 second or 2 of show will repeat)
- Starts after about 20 minutes
- worst with multiple streams (3+ tuners, but have seen it with only on tuner)
- DO NOT SEE USING HDHOMERUN APP, only see in plex records
I have not had this issue before about a month ago. The server has not changed in over 8 months, close to 3TB of tv shows without issues until now.
Server is Linux Mint 18.1 Serena (updated to rule out OS), Processor AMD FX™-8320 Eight-Core Processor, 16GB ram, system on 128GB ssd, 4 drives in a mdadm raid 5 for Plex Media Lib storage(ext4)
Issue has been seen in all the following release: plexmediaserver_1.9.7.4460-a39b25852_amd64.deb, plexmediaserver_1.10.0.4523-648bc61d4_amd64.deb, plexmediaserver_1.10.1.4561-9de2951fc_amd64.deb, plexmediaserver_1.10.1.4602-f54242b6b_amd64.deb
I have been trying to troubleshooting the issue:
- Replacing Cable RBG-6 cables (100% single good no issues I can see from hdhomerun card menus)
- Added second 1gb intel nic and moved hdhomerun(s) to a separate network (no other data but them and the plex server)
- hdhomerun prime (2- total 6 tuners) - latest firmware 20170930, Cable tuners for Spectrum Cable
- I don’t use plex comskip , have nightly job that does that (disabled that job to verify was plex issue)
- Verified issues in original TS files from plex. This is not a player nor playback transcodign error, this is Plex server DVR.
- turn on verbose logs and debug logs, but can not really find issue, logs appear capped at 5 megs, (can only see logs for last 15 minutes, they rotate out to quickly) Is there a configuration option for logs So I can I tell plex server to keep larger logs (may 20-50 megs)?
How can I increase log retention?
