Hello,
I’m new to using Plex and learning a lot as I explore its features.
Here’s my question: when I invite another account to Plex Home, the app requires selecting a profile for the other person’s account and entering their PIN after logging in.
Is there a way to disable this process?
I’d like to ensure that other people’s profiles aren’t visible and that there’s no need to select them.
Then don’t invite them into your Home. Create wholly separate plex.tv user accounts for them, then only share your libraries with them.
Plex Home and sharing don’t necessarily go together.
Ah, I see.
So it’s possible to share only the library.
Thank you for the explanation.
One last question about your answer: if other invited people need to watch the library videos on their mobile devices, would they also need a Plex Pass?
You don’t need a Plex Pass membership to use the mobile apps. You can also activate the app using a one-time in-app purchase. The activation is linked to the particular App Store / environment. If you want to use a mix of Android/iOS devices or devices using different App Store Accounts, those will require a separate activation.
