Yes, you have chosen the wrong entry at the right side. ORF is what your tuner is receiving. But you have picked the EPG of Radio Bayern and assigned it.
I think he means Radio and TV having the same channel numbers.
Example:
151 mĂŒnchen.tv
151 MDR Sputnik
156 ORF 2
156 Bayern plus
So even with the 200 local lineups the overlapping channel numbers wonât be solved.
However @gabe67 156 is now correctly ORF 2 for me. Actually the new lineups do not have any Radio channels at all, ergo no overlap.
Are you sure (your date indicates so, 11.06.2019) this is not an old issue from the Gracenote guide?
I had the same issues there, many TV channels were overlapped by radio channels.
Now with the new guide from TiVO the issue is âfixedâ in the sense that Radio channels arenât there at all.
If the new guide were to add Radio channels, it would then have to do e.g. 156 for TV and then 156-1 for Radio. Otherwise weâd have the same problem again like with Gracenote.
Thatâs not how it works. First of all it should be a one click solution, ergo the user doesnât have to manually map anything at all.
So we already discussed the Radio and TV channel numbers overlapping. The same is also happening for regional/local channels.
As an example for Kabel Deutschland:
https://helpdesk.kdgforum.de/sendb/belegung-457.html:
151 mĂŒnchen.tv
https://helpdesk.kdgforum.de/sendb/belegung-282.html:
151 TV Mainfranken
Both are in the same state Bavaria, ergo the guide Kabel Deutschland Bayern Digital has many overlapping channel numbers. They could be named 151-1 151-2 etc. but then the user experience is bad because you have to map every regional channel yourself.
Even if it was all in one guide, youâd then have the problem that local channels and radio channels are double overlapping, ergo 151-1, 151-2, 151-3, 151-4 and which one of those would be radio then? It would be a mess.
The only correct solution is to have those ~200 local lineups which automatically correctly map every channel.
Sorry but you seem to lack knowledge of how the system works. I need to select channel 151, otherwise I wonât get the right stream.
Have you tested this? (In Plex, not in a different software.)
@OttoKerner: However, it would make sense to code the app the way you are proposing
Best way would be that the mapping is done automatically. All other TV apps manage to do that. THe way Plex currently works in DVR makes no sense at all. I also donât think itâs a good idea to list 200+ lineups.
@gabe67 with the local lineups it should then automatically map everything correctly.
You still havenât answered the question, your screenshot is from May, correct? This is before the switch from Gracenote to TiVO. If you install the newest server version and then delete and readd your tuner, there wonât be any radio stations at all, ergo no radio/tv overlap.
Also for the extensive reasons I have listed @OttoKernerâs proposal doesnât make sense at all. It would only make sense if Plex were to move away from identifying channels by their channel numbers but I donât see a reasonable alternative.
With the overlapping channel numbers we need local lineups, there is no other comfortable solution.
I havenât done that so far. THank you for the hint. However, I still wonder how TVMosaic, Eyetv and others handle this mapping issue because those apps never asked me to map anything. They just work.
The same channel number could be different channel content in different regions / cities and need a different set of guide data.
Any lineup channel corrections / additions / removal needs going through
DVR deletion and recreating, or
go through âScan Channelsâ in DVR Settings and then an extra full guide refresh after the default guide refresh completes
And also many radio and tv channels have the same channel numbers (examples have been named above). Please make sure - if TiVO adds radio channels to the Kabel Deutschland guide - that the radio channels donât override tv channels (which is what happened on Gracenote previously). Thanks.
Might I add a different problem:
Itâs not helpful, that most of the radiostations get the the same EPG information over the whole day? That makes it impossible to record an particular concert (as it tries to record all radiostations present). Why donât just give (at least) the radio stationâs name as EPG content?.
And why, why isnât it possible to program manually recordings? I just donât get it.
Thanks
Your Kabel Deutschland guide has radio stations in it? Whatâs your server version and the specific guide you are using?
1.16.5.1154
Kabel Deutschland Germany Digital dann vermutlich.
