I’m having exactly the same issue. Last time I mapped out all my channels again I took notes and wrote down the channel numbers (e.g. 170 for ARDGRHD) as I thought, when it happens again I’ll be faster to bring them back. Now I realized that since it lost the mapping again, the channel ARDGRHD is no longer 170, it’s now 220. That’s probably the reason why the mapping gets lost.
Just realized, that all channels with an ID greater than 100 got a new ID which always added exactly 50 to the ID - for ALL channels. The channels with an ID below 100 remained unaffected.
Examples: 3sat (011) and arte (050) remained unchanged and continued to work.
All others got increased by 50:
ARD HD from 170 to 220
ZDF HD from 1146 to 1196
Sat1 from 826 to 876
There is nothing in the logs that would help understand that, hopefully the developers can make any sense of that?
could you let me have
country, post code, lineup/guide name selected from the dropdown during DVR Setup. The name of the lineup also appears on top on the DVR Settings page
The channel numbers that changed - was that in the tuner (left side of the channel mapping screen ?)
mapping does get unset requiring manual intervention if channel numbers change
There was a problem that was mentioned in the update here - see heading “Missing Lineups”
i had the same problem a few weeks ago. also in germany. from 65 channels down to 7. i deleted to dvr and set it up again (the remaining channels were from different frequencies).
today discovered the same problem. from 100 stations down to 25. this time the remained channels are others than last time.
my cable provider did not changed anything
other big problems i have is that plex dont recognize what channels are hd and which are not. the sd version of a channel is shown as hd, the hd as sd. it even marks some radio stations as hd. it looks like completely random.
and for all the shows i want to record the epg does not work when i set it to record only new episodes. for example: i want to record 3 different talkshows on friday evening. if i set it to record only new, it does not work. set it to record old and new it records them more than once because they are repeated the following days or whatever.
often recording fails and i have files near 0 mb. or pixalation/artifacts (having double and triple recordings helps here of course )
and the fact that i cant sort a list of 100 tv and radio stations (with icons that are not recognizable) is -sorry- just ridiculous.
for me this very important because this is used by my family. my brother and his family lives in the usa since 1 year and they depend on it!
i use a fritz.box tuner and have a small provider that nobody else here knows. i use the germany all lineup (but still cant match all i want)
It happend again… I checked my channel mappings every day, since yesterday the channel numbers > 100 are lost again. So this were 14 days since the last remapping. I tried an other provider, but the behavior stayed the same.
I just upgraded PMS to version 1.22.1, maybe the issue is fixed in there already, we will see.
In case the channel mapping will get lost again I am thinking about editing the channel numbers in the source file to minor numbers < 100.
Same issue here. I’ve an Ubuntu Server 18.04 lts with an own channellist and EPG: DVR - Deutschland (erweitert) (957 channels). I had to remap the EPG too.
I wonder if it is possible to save the settings, but under /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application/Plex Media Server/ I could not found any file with the mappings.
So I want copy the complete thread but an idea which should be implemented from the Plex team, otherwise this software is really not usable, it’s frustrating ;(
One more: if you recorded a series from only explicit one specific channel this must be deleted an reprogrammed, due to the change of the epg number, Plex want find the Tagesschau at ARD daily 8 pm. If you schedule belongs to „all available“ channel“ I did not see this feature.
Idea
The solution would be quite simple. Every EPG Channel has a code e.g. ZDF aka ZDFGERH, if there is a method of trying to find the match is must be made not from the numbers or from the channelname in brackets, instead the alpha-code (ZDFGERH) must be taken. I think this alpha code will not change ever so it’s secure to use.
The best way would be a worksheet with two rows
1st row: what’s the name of the channel provided from HDHomerun (name not number)
2nd row: what is the alphacode of the epg provider
With this kind of sheet (once manual done) there should be no more trouble. I doesn’t take place very often that there are new channels or channels deleted, if so the admin has to manage this. The sheet should be generated and maintained from the admin via webgui.
I have teh same issue now, with the same List.
Please fix this issue, the solution is only one post above my post.
It turns out the Channel Number in the List Deutschland (erweitert) (957 channels) is nut static, but the alpha-code is!
@sa2000 I’m on DVR—Deutschland (erweitert) (980 channels) like many others reported as well. The country is Germany and postcode is 78244.
The channel numbers that changed are NOT those on the left. It’s those on the right (3. column names “EPG Sender” in German). And it appears it’s only those above 100, those below 100 never changed to me and all others are changing every other week.
Channel numbers can change when there are bug fixes and actual channel movements / additions
For each of these issues - I need actual examples as I do not have snapshots of these lineups captured each day
I happen to have got a snapshot of Deutschland (erweitert) from the 2nd of April and I will compare this with today’s snapshot - but for each case I need actual examples giving channel numbers/names that changed and when and which lineup and country and post code
That compare did not show the problem. The only change was the addition of channel 277 - Duna TV - so no shifting of channel numbers
Thanks for the list. I will ask Gracenote what is their basis for changes to this lineup.
It appears to a national type of lineup for Germany - Germany (extended)
I take it that you are all using this general lineup to manually select and match channels and changes in channel numbers would affect this
Another option is to actually establish who your cable service provideer is and to see if the provider can be added to those that have custom lineups - then any change should only arise if the provider changes channel numbers.
