Separate DVR from Live TV

I would very much like to have my DVR separated from my Live TV.

Plex! please take a look at what Tivo did for true DVR systems. I just want to record. I really don’t need you to get all fancy with it, just let me chose the channel, time and duration and then let it happen.

Plex has several certain orientations: Music, Pictures, TV Shows, Movies and Live TV & DVR

Please break the last two out into the separate things that they are.

I would like to be able to setup a DVR group with a DVR Library (with its own file location) and a DVR metadata agent. I really don’t need fancy Posters and Backgrounds for the DVR content, just TVshow/Movie name - time - date - duration.

Tivo has done this for 20 years! Please don’t try and over-complicate it.

You can record, and put DVR content in its own library, and only use personal metadata, and not match it against TVDB or TMDB, if you wish.
