Is it possible to create DVR library/section that will catalog ALL recordings (News, Sports, Movies, TV shows etc etc ) ?
I do not want to have any DVR recordings cataloged with my carefully curated TV Shows or Movies libraries - i consider DVR recordings “low quality”/“low priority” content that is usually not up to par with rest of the content in the TV Shows/Movies libraries (for example sport event or news don’t really below to “Movies” )
you can create a DVR library, that’s what I do. Though I do believe that the movies and TV shows would need to have separate libraries. Not sure on that one.
Just create the library and go to the tuner settings and set that one as the default.
This is not gonna fly with family who are used to single DVR recordings list from set-up box and WMC for decade.
I dont want to have 2 sections/libraries for recordings - they dont care that recording is news or tv show or hockey. To them they are all a DVR recordings.
As was previously suggested you can create a TV DVR library that can be used for: TV Shows, News, Sports. You can then create a Movie DVR library that can be used for any Movies you want to record. I would then suggest you set the option to Include in Dashboard for the DVR libraries.
Your family will then see the new recordings when they first access Plex under their account under Recently Added TV and Recently Added Movies.
