Series episode titles disappeared in Dashboard

Server Version#: 1.19.4.2935
Player Version#: 4.38.1

Since the latest update, episode titles do not display anymore… Now all I get is season number, episode number, and the year…

Anybody else notice this???

Can’t say I have (these are brand new):

and… uh… I’ll even use the same hosted app you are:

… and we see nothing much has changed in the episode name department.

So… are your files mp4?

Show us some file names:

(that should be enough)

I mean under the Status/Dashboard tab…

Capture PMS

Right you are:

Old:

A Merry Go Round Broke Down-84

New:

A Merry Go Round Broke Down-82

… and we don’t need to know what Year it was…
… at least you or I don’t…lol

If I had a choice, I would prefer the season, episode, and title… :frowning:

Yea, me too - but I have to admit I’ve never noticed, or needed the episode name there, but Plex is nothing if they’re not changing something for the worse… something they seem to think doesn’t matter…

I’m still reeling from the UNO App on Roku not giving me that roll-over pop-up with the: Run Time/Episode Name/Rez - that was sooooooo bloody nice in ‘Retro’.

Didn’t matter to Plex, apparently, but gutted me (and about a million other users).

They sure do like to fiddle with things that work perfectly fine…

I thought I commented on this thread after the 1st post but it seems it didn’t save… I did open an issue at the time since this (11 days ago to me exact - so as soon as a noticed) was not intended for sure!

The good news is the regression (in the web client 4.38.1, not PMS) was found and fixed, it should land in app.plex.tv soon, and later in the hosted app (can’t exactly say dates) .

Thank you for the update… I’ll be looking forward to the next release of the web client then…

I’ve just reopened my web client and checked the version, 4.38.2 and the problem persists… Guess I was a little quick in claiming a solution…

If it matters, I’m using Chrome on Windows 7…

I didn’t say the fix was deployed I said the regression was found in 4.38.1 and was just fixed, and should land soon, to be super clear, we didn’t deploy a version with this fix yet, its likely gonna land in the next one.

Gotcha’… Thanks for the clarification…

FYI, Just updated Plex Web again this morning to 4.39.1, the regression still persists… Will wait and see what happens with the next update when it drops and report back…

It’s odd.

I checked an episode a few minutes ago and there was no episode name.
Then I started watching a Farscape episode - and earlier today I Refreshed Metadata on the entire show - and I get this:

image
(… a little wrapping would be nice, eh?)

I’m using 4.34.3 local

Refresh Metadata on a small show and see what happens.
If stubborn and small - Dance It:

The issue that was fixed was web only, if you where to i.e. use another app that supports dashboard (or look into the PMS endpoint that provides this it would all be ok) and that had not regressed yet in 4.34.3 so that is for sure odd. Could just be browser cache though.

@bjs59 yeah sorry I failed to notice 4.39.1 was already scheduled to deploy before this got in. This one will only land in the next (4.40.x)

Keep an eye on Plex Web this should offer better visibility on when its actually fixed, but I can promise it is fixed as I’ve tested myself.
