Series recording set but not recording - 'no upcoming airings' - UK Coronation Street

Hi,

I have set series record for Coronation Street which is on ITV. In the Programme Guide, under Shows I can see it, and it has the icon indicating series record. It currently shows 7 episodes available.

However, when I go to the recording schedule, it does not appear in the calendar (today there are two episodes) and in the Recording Priority shows as ‘No upcoming airings’.

I have series record set up for Celebrity Juice which recorded fine last night.

There’s an odd quirk about programs that seem to be on daily. For example the BBC News programs. For some reason they are all listed as “repeats”

So for my local news the issue is the same. Set it to repeat and it will record. However it comes with a caveat, I think you’ll find that the two episodes will have the same episode number (this is the same with the local news that follows on from the English news). So you’ll find (probably) that the first episode will record but the system thinks the second daily episode has already been recorded so it’ll ignore the second. It’s the same with my local news so to get around this I’ve set the English news to record well past it’s finish time so that the local news is recorded. This is something that I don’t think you’ll be able to do with your show?

In short the EPG guide data is riddled with these types of faults which will result (if not micro-managed) in skipped recordings.

They need to fix this; stat

Ah yes - you are right.

If I change the ‘Airings’ option in Record Options from ‘New Airings Only’ to ‘New and Repeat Airings’ it is added to the recording schedule.

It thinks tonight’s two new episodes are not new. Bug in the interpretation of the metadata, or in the metadata itself.

I can see from the other thread that Gracenote is not indicating the episodes as ‘new’. I can also see that the second episode this evening will not be recorded!

correct, but least the dev team are now aware of the issue, we will just have to be patient.

Today’s Beta Release 1.11.3.4793 has changes to address this and will hopefully resolve most of the cases. (I say this reservedly because the information available for multiple episodes may not actually have identifiable differences.)

This fixes the problem where only one episode was recorded.

There remains an issue with episode identification in the library and that is because of the lack of the detail in the Gracenote data. The airing time is used in this fix to label the episodes differently.
