I have a chronic unending problem that repeatedly happens randomly and for no reason, I change nothing and the problem continues to reoccur over and over again, I waste hours trying to resolve the problem .
I’m running PLEX on a nvidia shield tv pro, I also have an attached 4tb usb media storage device connected to the shield along with a silicone dust connect duo box so I can access tv over an antenna connected to the Silicone dust box.
I typically notice the problem when I start PLEX and attempt to watch live tv and dvr on PLEX , the problem is I get the error “shield android tv is unavailable and the suggestion is to click retry connection which never works. I then go to look at the PLEX settings and the icon for the shield server that would normally be there showing a running or stopped server has disappeared completely. This continues over and over, I get fed up go to bed and the next morning it may or may not work. I have on a number of occasions totally erased everything on the shield and reloaded the server and the app from scratch, it then works perfectly fine for a few days then without me changing anything the server suddenly disappears again and the cycle of torture begins all over again.
Can someone give me any idea how to get off this merry go round? I’m honestly about to give up on PLEX , this system should not be so problematic .
I am running 2 media servers, one on a NAS (Home) and one on a Pi4 device (portable for home and RV). In early June my home plex server stopped showing up for my televisions. I could access it from my iPad and computer. I restarted the NAS but that did not help. The PLEX clients on the TVs were up to the latest version. I eventually uninstalled & reinstalled the PLEX client on the TVs and then all was good again.
This morning, BOTH of my PLEX servers just disappeared from view… on my TVs, my computer, and my iPad. How does that happen?
Does anyone have any helpful debugging advise here?

PS. I believe that in both cases, I had added media and was in the process of rescanning the media files. But I don’t know why that would cause the media server to not be seen anymore.
I can run the client App on the shield, but it shows no server and no option to link to a server or even create a new one (which I don’t want do do anyway. I want MY server).
