After installing MacOS 26 in one of my Macs I get an error on every computer that says “Unable to connect securely“. I have two servers at the moment, one running on MacOS 26 Tahoe and another running on MacOS 15 Sequoia, and they can’t connect with each other. Both are giving me that error. Could the different OSs be the problem?

Just a guess but go into your Mac gears (System Settings)
then check both
Privacy & Security → Local Network
Network → Firewall
It’s possible those are more restrictive in Tahoe or have different defaults.
I’m not going to try out Tahoe till the first point release and even then it’s going on an external NVME for testing. I’ve been bit too many time in the last 6 years changing OS versions before New Years.
If time is critical, one option is to roll back to Sequoia for now.
Thanks nibbles. I checked and the firewall is disabled and the Plex server is enabled in local network. The weird thing is that from my iPad (ios 26) I can access both servers (I have two Macs each with their own server), but both computers can’t access the server of the other. I will keep looking. Unfortunately, I can’t uninstall Macos 26, I need it for my work.
The difference in what you describe where an iPad can see both Macs but the Macs have some issue seeing each other might be that the iPad is WiFi only, but the Macs could have both WiFI and wired connections enabled. If that were the case, I would investigate disabling the WiFi connections on the Macs and leaving them wired only, rebooting and testing that way. (Default routes, WiFi interference, caching hostname.local and name resolution might be playing a role.) Maybe reboot all network hardware too. I’m hoping your servers have a static IP address set.
Test connecting each Mac’s Plex player to the other’s server using the bundled web app via http and via https to see if anything works. e.g.
Sitting at Mac2, try both http://mac1.ip.address:32400/web https://mac1.ip.address:32400/web
While sitting at Mac1, try both http://mac2.ip.address:32400/web https://mac2.ip.address:32400/web
If you can’t get any of those to work, your networking isn’t quite right.
You might need to set Cloudflare as your DNS Server (1.1.1.1).
Maybe check your Settings -> Authorized Devices -> Server list, and prune out any old servers that don’t exist anymore. There has to be something just a bit off somewhere.
OK, guys. i figured a few things out. First, as SE56 said, it is not MacOS26. At the same time I install that OS, I also started using Google Chrome. Now I realized that I can access the servers from Safari, but not from Chrome. The other thing is that when I try to access the servers with the IP and a safe connection, as recommended by nibbles, Google just doesn’t connect, and on Safari I get a security warning. The warning on Safari says that the “certificate name does not match input“. But if I open the Plex app (plex.tv) from Safari, I can access both servers and I get the green lock that indicates the connections to the server are secure, so I have no idea what’s going on.
I’m not sure if I should generate a new certificate or what. Networking is not my area of expertise. But to be honest, I don’t care much at the moment. I can access both servers with Safari, so I can just use Safari instead of Chrome when I need to access Plex.
