Just updated server to 2.10.7 and I am getting to Relay inside my home network, and my Home Theater installed on another computer within the network is no longer working. Was this supposed to be an upgrade!!!
How about if I do not want a Relay? How about if I want to keep my collection internal, and not access it from outside my network? How about privacy???
I have been with you guys since your very early days, and I had not seen such a flop yet.
You are doing a great job, and please do not deviate from a straight road. Cheers,
Server version is 1.2.7.2987. There are no issues with my internal network. Since the last major update, and the subsequent small update, contact with server is lost periodically, from every 45 minutes to every hour or so. One needs to exit Plex, wait a minute or two and restart Plex. Very annoying. And, btw, I do have a green checkmark next to Remote Access.
Same issue running 1.2.7.2987 on Linux. While playing a movie the movie stops and says connection the server was lost. It looks like the PMS crashed and restarted.
Older versions of the MediaServer can be found on your computer. For Windows this is the address
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Updates
Now the question is: can one roll back a few versions without issues to the database?
When can we get a fix to move forward?
Can anyone please answer the question of how to go back to 1.1.4.2757, which is the last version that worked properly, without destroying the database?
I don’t see any updates to fix the issue of disconnection of the server every thirty minutes or so.
Thanks,
I, too, am running 1.2.7.2987 and I hope they fix this ASAP, because our external network bandwidth isn’t great. I just tested with a Win10 desktop (at 10.0.0.38) physically plugged in to the same switch as the Plex Server (at 10.0.0.23) and, for some reason, the server is NOT reachable on my local network, but IS reachable via relay. That is really stupid and causes any video I try to play to continually pause due to our poor external bandwidth.
FWIW, I tried disabling remote access, and the desktop can no longer locate the Plex Server, but it will still connect if I manually enter the correct IP address:port into a browser. I’ve also tried the Android Plex app from a tablet connected to the same switch via Wifi (at 10.0.0.67) and it, too, reports that everything is being relayed.
I hope this gets fixed ASAP as it is a CRITICAL ISSUE for some of us!
I forgot to mention what Win10 sees the Plex Server as a network object, so whatever form of advertisement used for THAT function is working fine, but whatever Plex uses between itself and its own apps is not.
Rolling back to 1.2.6.2975 fixed this annoying issue for me. Three nights running of buffering rubbish, rebooting servers, TV’s, routers and messing with Network settings. The rollback instantly resolved it. The database seems to be fine with the rollback.
