It looks like I may be experiencing the same issue as this post. My plex has been crashing every night around 2am EST ever since the last update (almost 2 weeks now). I am currently on version 1.15.1.710. I have all my scheduled tasks starting at 2am. Can I also try the 1.15.1.777 build version?
Could you upload logs with debug enabled plus export of the application event log as outlined in my earlier posts
Iāve been pretty crashy lately as well. Thought it might have to do with my rebuilding libraries, but it seems to happen around when I attempt to optimize the database. 3-4 crashes in the last hour. Logs:
Plex Media Server Logs_2019-03-09_02-06-58.zip (4.4 MB)
PlexRequest.zip (1.6 KB)
There appear to be crashes during video preview thumbnailing. I have included you in the message giving the link
The crashes can only be confirmed through the export of the Windows Application Event log (can be filtered on Event IDs 1000 and 1001) and then save as evtx file
Please include zip of this export with any zipped logs provided
Updated my original post with the attached files. Hope I followed instructions. Had a bit of a time finding the instructions in this post.
Installed the preview build yesterday and plex did not crash overnight. But now on some video files Iām getting Conversion failed, Transcoded exited errors. Help
It does show a 0xc0000409 crash at 02:43:07 am - so yes similar crash to what is being addressed. But as to doing the export - you only exported one event - a 1001 event at 02:43:07 - there should have a corresponding Event ID 1000 event and also two sets of events for each crash you had prior to that time.
You should have received a notification that you have been added to a forum private message - it has the link for the 1.15.1.777 development build
separate topic please - with logs covering time of failures and indication of what time it was - you can add link to the topic here
Actually as this a private development build, you can send the details and logs to me by private message
I installed the development build as instructed earlier this morning. I have been running solid ever since.
Thank you for addressing this so quickly. Let me know if you need any additional information.
using 1.777, library scanning working non-stop for over 12hrs, no PMS crash, reminds me of the old days, butā¦
seeing a lot of āPlug-in is starting, waiting 36 seconds for it to completeā messages (seconds vary) vs. the past wait for database messages(which lead to PMS crashes); could the waiting be a cause of PMS unresponsive? As accessing PMS via Plex client is hit/miss, sometimes it sees the server and sometimes it doesnāt
itās almost as if plex media scanner has taking over and not allowing PMS to response to acess(lol)
Is it possible to get 1.15.1.777 build also going though same issue Windows server.
That was what I suspect causing busy database - but you say the logs do not show that anymore.
You can do specific test with procmon similar to what we had before - database locks were noticed during scan of library TV Docs
and there were new episodes for My Cat from Hell
Is the P:
drive a NAS ? A disk that may become unavailable and then available ?
I am making it available to users where i can see that the issue the build fixes was arising
So need debug logs from the server + export from Event Veiwer (eventvwr.exe) of the Application Event Log - filtered by Event IDs 1000 and 1001 i.e. filter of 1000,1001
Will it come to the public on next update when available.
I expect it to be the next beta before becoming public
Am assuming thatās Plex Pass builds thank you for your reply.
Beta is available to Plex Pass users
