Ok, while checking on my account settings I noticed something new. First off, yes it is the exact same account I am logging into both on the hosted version of Plex and the app.plex.tv version. What I noticed is that when I login to the app.plex.tv version and go to account settings, my server shows up with warning icon. When I click on it, I think I see the problem:
“app.plex.tv is unable to connect to {my server name} securely”.
Is there a way to make this work? I tried to follow the guide but it doesn’t seem to mention anywhere how to make it work. I use Google Mesh Wifi and I don’t think I have any fancy settings.
I have send you a PM.
In that PM, you can see the server Plex.tv knows about and that it doesn’t have a certificate.
This is a problem.
To correct this:
- Stop Plex
- Navigate to PlexMediaServer - AppData - Plex Media Server - Cache
- Delete
cert-v2.p12 - Start PMS.
Now,
-
Sign out of Plex/web app
-
Close the web browser
-
Open the web browser again and navigate to http://192.168.86.234:32400/web
-
Sign in.
Let me know if everything works again.
If not, I need to see a ZIP file
- Stop Plex
- File Station
- Navigate to: PlexMediaServer - AppData - Plex Media Server
- Right-click
Logs→Compress to Logs.zip - Download the ZIP file
- Attach it here so I can see the errors.
Amazing. It looks like that did it. Thanks ChuckPa.
