I’m having a weird problem hoping someone can help.
Since yesterday I can’t play videos reliably through app.plex.tv and not at all through chromecast or smart tv app.
Since then I updated my server OS as well Plex itself to the latest. But issue still persists.
When I go directly to http://{direct-server-ip}:32400 everything works fine. The only other thing I’ve been able to find is in the chrome console when I go to app.plex.tv.
I see connections being made to my server, but sometimes the ip is off. For instance:
Opening server event connection to my-server-name at wss://172.0.20.4.{somehash}.plex.direct:32400/:/websockets/notifications?X-Plex-Token=REDACTED
https://172-20-0-5.{somehash}.plex.direct:32400/media/providers?X-Plex-Product=Plex%20Web&X-Plex-Version=4.72.0&X-Plex-Client-Identifier=REDCATED&X-Plex-Platform=Chrome&X-Plex-Platform-Version=96.0&X-Plex-Sync-Version=2&X-Plex-Features=external-media%2Cindirect-media&X-Plex-Model=hosted&X-Plex-Device=Linux&X-Plex-Device-Name=Chrome&X-Plex-Device-Screen-Resolution=1308x1335%2C2560x1440&X-Plex-Token=REDACTED&X-Plex-Language=en-GB net::ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE
Which is my local docker ip and it makes sense that’s not correct.
Sometimes it does show a correct ip in the plex.direct url: 142.xx.yy.zz.{somehash}.plex.direct and everything works fine.
Right now on the web ui it’s correct maybe 50% of the time and through chromecast it almost never works.
I also set the ADVERTISE_IP_ADDR env variable in the docker container but doesn’t make any difference.
Am I missing some configuration to have my server advertise my ip correctly? When I look in remote session settings everything seems correct.
Any help is appreciated
