Server Dropped off Account & Can't Reconnect

Server Version#: PlexMediaServer-1.23.3.4707-ebb5fe9f3
Player Version#: Web

Hi All,

Something weird happened when I reset my password today and now my server has vanished from my plex account. I’ve gone through the normal method of going to the server IP and signing in from an incognito window which appears to work but it doesn’t come back online and when I go to a normal browser it keeps saying I am not authorised to access this server.

Logs keep showing this:

#####################################################

Login via the webui at http://:32400/web

and restart the docker, because there was no

plex token found in the preference file

#####################################################

Any help greatly appreciated!

If you select to log out all devices when resetting your server, this will also sign-out your server. In order to reclaim it, you’ll need to connect to the bundled version of Plex Web using a local connection. If you’re on a different subnet or run this server on a remote machine, you might need to connect through a SSH tunnel.

That being said – I’m not 100% if there’s an alternative to handle this using a docker container.

I wound up fixing it by installing the server on my laptop, claiming it and pulling the tokens out of the com.plexapp.plexmediaserver.plist that it generated.

There really needs to be better documentation/process on how to reliably claim remotely installed servers. It wouldn’t even work when I was using the SSH tunnel method this time round.

I think I’m in the same boat here. I have 2 docker containers with claim tokens set in the environment running and last night and both started to exhibit weird login behavior. I read online a easy fix was to sign out and back in.

Signing out worked, but there is absolutely no way I can tell to sign in. Both servers are running on the appropriate ports, but don’t show up in the settings and there is just no way to log back in.

I’ll try to do that SSH trick, but thats an all day project. Yikes!
