Server folders with media content missing in Samsung TV app

Server Version#: Latest
Player Version#: Latest

We’ve been running the Plex app on our Samsung TV UE65NU7105 without problems. We’ve used one user, the administrator. After adding users for the kids to filter what they can access, the TV app doesn’t show any of the folders with media. The servers shows up, but there are no folders. It’s the same for all users.
The Plex “server” has folders for the contents that I set up for the users, provided by Plex.

I can access and modify what content resources are available for Plex (in the TV app). But no such options for my server. I initially had a pin for one of the users - the administrator. I read that some third party apps had problems when there is a pin. So I removed it, but that changed nothing.

I don’t know if the reason is my adding of users. But it corresponds at least.

In the iPhone app, all server folders are available as before.
I managed to “cast/stream” the content from the missing folders from my iPhone to the TV. The TV app was then launched, and ran the movie in the Plex app.

Also, if I access the server in the web-version on the phone, It says the server is missing. But as I mentioned, the phone app find and run the folders as expected.

Any hints anyone?

“Latest” beta? or “latest” public release? Actual version numbers are very helpful.

4.x or something else? This helps clarify which samsung app you’re using, the supported one (developed by Plex) or the unsupported one (developed by a volunteer).

Thanks!

Server version is 1.18.3.2156
App version is 4.15.2

Interestingly, also my Denon HiFi unit that used to play over DLNA from the Plex server neither finds any folders.
I am suspecting I need to go back to only the Administrator user…

Using Plex’s DLNA server is not the same issue being discussed here (the OP is using the Plex app with managed users).

In your case, you probably just need to go into the server settings and re-enable DLNA; it was disabled in a recent PMS update due to a memory leak bug.

Thanks, didn’t realize it had been turned off. I don’t think I would have thought to check that, had you not mentioned it! Since it has always been turned on I wouldn’t have imagined it being turned off.

What does the abbreviation “OP” stand for?
Anyhow, it seems the turned off DLNA server was the issue. Because I tried the Samsung app again now. It now it works. The only change made is turning on DLNA. I still have several users and one can change between them, and they have the correct restrictions.

Opening Post(er), meaning the first post(er) in this thread

Ah! Since I both am the original poster, and the poster of the specific post that was quoted, I must admit I didn’t think in those terms at all.
