Server Version#: 1.43.3.10828
Player Version#: Not sure what this is.
My Plex server says it’s fully accessible outside my network, but it’s not. I have had reports from users it’s not available and trying on my phone using cellular, I cannot access remotely.
No changes have been made to my network, and port forwarding is correct. I also tried disabling remote access and re-enabling it.
I’ve triggered a new certificate for your server.
Please stop and restart it now.
Where is this server physically located? In your home?
Thank you Otto, my server is in my home. New cert is now allowing my libraries and content to show remotely, but when I try to play, it loads and shows a black screen.
Player shows as unpaused but, screen is black, timer is not counting down and there is no audio. If I transcode to a lower quality, it will play. I tried this with several different files. One file’s direct play is 1.2 Mbps and would not play, however when transcoded to 1.5 Mbps, it would play. A second file, a movie with 19.5 Mbps original quality wouldn’t play until it was transcoded to 12 Mbps. Since the first file would not play it’s original quality and is significantly less than the second file’s transcoded bitrate, tells me it’s not a bandwidth issue.
I did sign out of my player and sign back in.
