Player Version#:Dont know where to look its a roku hdmi app.
It says when i go on the plex website on my computer that im logged in and i see that green lock with a check mark. But my TV Roku App says server is unreachable,when i first set it up for like 2 min it was connected on my TV but then stopped. This is soooo frustrating is it always this hard lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.
What’s the details of your PLEX setup. Has it worked before and stopped working or never worked on your Roku? Also your PMS is out of date, try updating that too.
Im running Ubuntu 18.04.2 as my OS and its connected to my 32 inch tv with a HDMI Roku stick in back. Yes a few years ago i had plex running when i had windows 7 and when you had to pay for even the basic plex for 40 a year. And yes i had it running a day ago for 2 min it did connect and on my TV screen it said connected and there was that green lock on my screen then it went away lol. Whats a pms? and how do i change that? Sorry im a bit of a newbie with all this tec stuff. Thanks for your help.
I don’t have any experience with Ubuntu. PMS stands for Plex Media Server. Does the server you’re selecting show as Nearby or Remote?

Also how do i update to the new version of PMS? I had to use a termial in ubuntu to get this version i have now, its like a command prompt in windows. I just copied and pasted what to type in to get this from a web-site i was on. Yes linux is a different thing lol im new to this too i just came from windows 7.
I looked under settings and i found a Version im using says 3.69.1 does this sound correct? I’m having trouble updating to the newest version. They should just have an update button.
That version is different than what you gave earlier in your first post. PLEX is free to use as a server and as a client on most devices. Only one that has a cost if you don’t have Plex Pass is the mobile app versions in the store, google play, amazon fire tv, etc.
I got it to work i deleted the old version and downloaded the newer version and it works thanks for your help.
