On the FTV, try signing out of your plex account, then reboot the FTV and sign back in.
yes, i tried that, signing out of plex, restarting ftv, still same thing
And you did that in the FTV, and not in the web app?
Did you allow the FTV to fall back to unsecure connections?
yes, signed out of plex in the ftv, yes, i changed the option in plex settings on the ftv to allow insecure connections on same network
Can you try and go nuclear: remove the plex app from the FTV and remove all its data when asked.
Afterwards restart the FTV and install the plex app.
Ok, it looks like the ftv just was able to connect to the current server. All my media is came up. In ftv, under more, it still shows my old server. Any suggestions on how to get rid of that?
Also, another question, I have noticed when into plex server (on the server pc), under authorized devices, there are numerous devices that say chrome. I would assume this to be when I used chrome to access plex. There are like 14 devices named chrome. Is there any way to distinguish between them or to somehow give them a name so I know if any are unauthorized.
Theres also another device called plex auth app chrome. What is that and can I delete it?

That is always the Chrome web browser.
If you are unsure, simply remove all. It is easiest to sign into your account in the web app.
Plex auth app was a workaround for signing into your account with web browsers. I think you can safely remove this as well.
Yes, i unistalled the plex app on ftv, but it did not ask to delete data, then reinstalled, thats when I had the issue with server unavailable. It did not automatically choose the correct server, it gave me a choice between both servers…

Is it possible, that the old server is still running in your local network?
I dont really know, how do I know if its still running or not?
On which machine/device was it installed?
ok, i believe the when i first installed the plex media server ( with the old server) it was on a different pc than what i am now using for the current server. now that i think of it, dont remember if i delete that from the other pc.
i looked in that pc, control panel, under uninstall programs and dont see anything thats says plex
That’s weird. It appears as if your FireTV is holding on to some very old data.
I seem to remember that there is a menu in the FireTV where you can stop and remove apps and also delete their data. Maybe try there to make it forget that old server.
ok, i found it in ftv settings, applications, manage applications and cleared the data for the app, had to sign in to the app again, it still gives me a choice, when it first opens up between the two servers, old and new
