There is some evidence of multiple instances of Plex Media Server.exe running - perhaps you have it set to run as scheduled task and it is also running automatically on login ?
Could you look into that
Also there is some strange setup - you have both the binaries and related files installed in the same path as the local app data P:\Plex\Plex Media Server\
So you have all merged together - there is a risk with similar directory names !
Can you uninstall Plex Media Server through Windows Add and Remove and then install it on the C: Drive
Assuming P: is a local drive, you can keep the app data there - Registry Setting LocalAppDataPath within HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server
I have a question if someone can help I have a qnap nas running plex I’ve been broken since the last 2 updates and the current on 1.22.3.492 is anyone working on fixing the issue of plex crashing and having to restart every 6-8 hours? If there is a thread for the kindly send me the link. Thanks.
I see now that my recent history isn’t unique. I started a new thread but maybe my issues belong in this thread. Server crashing daily and sometimes multiple times daily. I did notice that I often have multiple versions of Plex Relay.exe running, even when nothing is happening on the server (nobody playing anything). No idea if it’s related but I thought I’d mention it.
Here are my logs : Plex Media Server Logs_2021-04-22_13-28-53.zip (6.2 MB)
I had another issue with “phantom files” that Plex wouldn’t remove. So some helpful Plex worker decided he’d manually remove them from my database and he asked me to upload my database - which I did. Very nice right? Well, that was two and a half weeks ago so I don’t think I’m ever getting my database corrected. I doubt it’s related to these crashes… but who knows.
REALLY ANNOYING!
Plex continues to stop working on a daily (often multiple times a day) basis.
Here are my logs - again. Is there anybody out there? Plex Media Server Logs_2021-05-01_19-05-52.zip (4.8 MB)
Not that anybody cares. Plex just crashed again. And there were a dozen plexscripthost.exe files still running after the crash. Seems like a lot. Would love some help diagnosing this issue. Not holding my breath.
I have the same problem… My PMS has been crashing for several days for no reason. A month ago I had a similar problem and with the update 1.22.2.4276 it was fixed, however the last week the same thing happened again and it crashes up to 4 times in one day. I downgraded to the version that worked at that time and it doesn’t work, it keeps crahsing

I failed back to server ver. 1.22.1.4228 and rolled back my firmware for my qnap to the -1 ver. all works once again. sucks that plex gives us no help nor no way to contact them for questions whey the patches blows us all up.
Plex stopped working again (to be clear - the program is still running but nothing is working - until I force close it with task manager and reload it. Happens every day - usually more than once.
Would REALLY appreciate help figuring out why. New logs attached from just now (when Plex wasn’t working)Plex Media Server Logs_2021-05-06_16-11-15.zip (5.3 MB)
Looks like your database needs to be optimized. This version could be from before the database schema changes that caused some problems before. I’ll let someone else confirm that, but this is what I’ve found. The database essentially slows down to the point of timing out.

The crash report dmp files only show 2 dumps from 18th April and one 1st April.
Could you search the %Temp% folder for files with extension .dmp and see if you find any for the 9th May - at about 21:34
The crash reports folders have a lot of zero length dmp files - with most recent being from 25th April. Zero length dmp files arise if there are resourcing issues when creating the dmp file - eg memory shortage for the process. We do not have logs for those times
So the logs for the 9th May - do show a crash at this time: May 09, 2021 21:34:02
However - i do not have the dmp file for it
The file may be named PLEX MEDIA SERVER\25fc3c1c-465c-4f1f-9e2a-8bee58f8da63.dmp within the %Temp% directory
The crashes before that appear to have been hangs rather than actual process crashes - like 8th May at 21:35
One log line relating to transcoded streaming was repeatedly logged
May 08, 2021 21:35:44.153 [20664] DEBUG - [TranscodeOutputStream] Changed instance plex-transcode-ksy6pb88da0dx6r7ha24g370-7306b72a-1d04-4e4b-8d13-08ebc7ae0401 which had to 2; was at chunk 4 with offset 1330.894000 now at chunk -1
This may have caused a hang. I have referred this to our server development team
A similar issue arose on the 3rd May
If you cannot find a dmp file for the 9th May crash within the Temp directory, we could try getting windows to manage the dumps - see registry edit suggested on this support article Crash Logs: Plex Media Server | Plex Support
Can’t remember if I asked - is the F Drive a local drive ?
If you manage to get windows created dmp files for Plex Media Server crashes - you will need to upload somewhere and send me link privately (together with the logs zip)
