Server keeps disconnecting

Hi. Ever since the latest software update for Plex, I keep getting disconnected. Every time I turn off my apple tv, I cant connect to Plex again. Same with the ipad.

When I look at the plex server on my macbook pro, network access is not available outside my network. Even with this, sometimes I can still play but most of the time, I have to keep retrying until I can get access again in the remote access page.

I got the lifetime access last year and have really enjoyed plex but I just realized that they dont have email support, only this forum which is disappointing with the amount of money paid to their app. At least help for the first year would’ve been great. Hoping to get some help here.

I’m not a techie and I’m just using the basic settings for plex. Laptop is connected with wifi. Mac os 10.14.6

I’ve had a systemic problem with PLEX connecting or remaining connected every-time I update. I’ve made it a practice after an update to shut down the server long enough for the web interface to report it is not available and restart the server. 95+% of the time this provides an enduring and stable connection.

If you’re using a VPN… Give this a try.

@grhiner I tried shutting down the server but it didn’t help. Fortunately, there’s a new update. For some reason, it’s working better now with the latest update.

@benyeager thanks, I don’t use VPN though coz it slows down the wifi connection more.
