Server no longer recognizing hundreds of videos

Server Version#: Version 1.43.0.10492-121068a07
Player Version#: Version 4.159.0

I recently moved my media files to a NAS, but I’m running Plex server off a Mac Studio (2023) running the latest Mac OS update (26.3.1). This server has been rock solid for months.

Two days ago I noticed that an actor (Donald Glover) would not come up when searching using the search tool on the library tool even though the actor is in several movies in my library. Using the search bar up top, he is easily found.

I refreshed meta data hoping it would fix things. It did not.

I had added a couple of videos and updated the library. That is when over 800 videos went missing from the library (files were still on my drive). I can occasionally get it to rebuild after creating new libraries - all but around 30, but then it eventually “loses” the 800 videos again.

I’ve tried everything I know of - including running the db repair. Plex server has been running with the files on the NAS setup for over a week with zero trouble. This only started after I reset meta data.

Any ideas?

Maybe Plex Files Unavailable but they’re not missing

Thanks @OttoKerner . It’s a long thread but hopefully this post summarizes everything and help guide you do a solution @rtracewell that works for you.

I wasn’t worried about the actual files. I had said in the post that the files were still there. It’s just super strange to me that after a full reset and rebuild of the library the files are found like before, but then the slowly get removed. Very weird.

That’s what the linked thread is about.

Ah. Sorry, I misunderstood. Thank you.

I’m running a current Mac OS, but I’m going to try a similar go around and see if that works. Thanks again.
